I guess the field work is paying off because I just shot a stress free personal best at Ellicott Creek that stood for 4 years! I just barely missed a 40 footer on 13 to make it 7 straight birdies on the back 9. This is after just a few days of field

Oh how I've missed Newfane! I'm so glad it's open for play again and played 2 rounds in a day for the first time this season. I'm definitely starting to feel my age and have a few minor aches but nothing that's affecting my game too much. I improved my second round by 6 strokes by getting off the tee really well and if only I could putt it would have been A LOT more strokes. Well it's that time of the year to begin the disc golf season! My first tournament is in less than 2 weeks and the weather has finally began to break, now it's time to grind! Week 1 I'll be focusing on my short game and trying to get my body used to throwing again. Week 2 I'll open up with my fairways and distance drivers to get my distance shots back. The saying goes "drive for show, putt for dough" 💸so I'll be doing that every day even if it's only for 10 minutes! If you listen closely you can hear me inhale and exhale as I go through my putting stroke. I've come to realize if you can pick one thing to focus on during a tournament putt it will help you stay consistent. I've chosen my breathing. Through yoga and other various athletic movements I've learned how important it is to breathe at the right moments and tried to incorporate that into my putting stroke. Inhale as I pull the putter back, exhale as I drive all of my momentum from the ground up through the tips of my fingers.
